Little Things That Ground Me
Peace doesn’t always come in grand gestures. Sometimes, it arrives in the quietest ways a flicker of a flame, the hush of the wind, or the rhythm of your own breath. For me, grounding starts with candles. There’s something sacred about lighting one and letting it fill the space with warmth. It instantly softens the room and my spirit. I don’t rush through those moments I sit with them, breathe them in, and let the stillness settle.
Another place I return to is the beach but not the crowded kind. I love a quiet, empty shoreline. The kind where you can hear your own thoughts between waves. Being near water always brings me back to myself. It reminds me that I’m allowed to flow, rest, and return.
Nature in any form soothes me. Even a short, slow walk with no destination, just space to think, to breathe, to feel. I don’t need music or distractions I just let my mind float while my feet find the ground again.
These small rituals keep me anchored. They may not look like much from the outside, but they hold me steady when life pulls in too many directions. They remind me of who I am soft, still, present.
If you're ever feeling scattered or disconnected, ask yourself: what are the little things that bring you home to yourself? Start there. It doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you."
